BCC have been operating as an active caving and potholing club since 1950. We currently have over 30 members, with a wide range of ages, many of whom are active cavers. We are a friendly and approachable club and are always looking for new members.
Burnley Caving Club remains an active caving club, with regular caving trips to the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. We are particularly proud of our continuing record of introducing people to the sport of caving. Novices are introduced to the sport at training sessions held at our club premises in Burnley usually on Thursday evenings 8 – 9 pm.
BCC is always on the look out for new members, if you are an experienced caver, a total novice, or just curious, then come along and have a go in our climbing tower where you will be shown the ropes by a team of highly experienced cavers.
The club has an indoor caving training tower, a meeting room and indoor climbing wall. Prospective members and visitors are welcome. Introductory and novice caving meets are held regularly during the year. A Committee elected annually, at an Annual General Meeting held in November after the Annual Dinner, runs BCC. Committee meetings are held on the second Thursday every month in the club hut open to all. The way the club is run is detailed in the clubs constitution.
